A very long week has finally passed and tomorrow we begin Round 2. It was a glorious week for some and unfortunate for others. Since the Phoenix Tournament was announced, hundreds of players have been registering so that they can secure a position in the list of 64 teams that will be selected. As you well know by now, it will be a 4 vs 4 competition that will take place on the map, Canals. Previously known as Amsterdam, Canals has a unique infrastructure that will force teams to play strategically. The concept of ”Spray n’ Pray” is out of the question. On February 14th, 2016, the biggest mobile FPS eSports event was debuted from Mobcrush Headquarters. It was big, it was successful, and it was memorable. We were right on schedule, the teams showed up, and it had every mobile gamer get a good night sleep. Although everything appeared ready and organized to you on-screen, we had numerous hardworking individuals trying to set everything up in the background. Having said that, we want to thank all of our sponsors, shoutcasters, organizers, participants, and viewers for the legendary event that took place at Santa Monica.
The Critical Ops Fireteams Tournament Bracket is finally ready and we have selected the teams that will play on the opening day. The Bracket is pretty big, there are, after all, 64 teams competing in it! It’s already exciting to see which teams will win Round 1 but you can bet on the fact that we will all leave as winners, because this is an unprecedented event for the mobile community. Note that Round 1 will end by the end of Saturday, February 20th and any team that hasn’t showed up by then will be disqualified and their opponents will win. But before you check out the bracket, let us announce the 20 teams that should be available to play on opening day.
Tick Tock goes the clock as teams align their soldiers. We are getting closer to the opening day, only 4 days to go! As you can see below, the official advertisement is complete and we can all agree that it looks insanely beautiful. This is the first mobile eSports for a first person shooter game in forever, so it’s hard to think of how we can welcome such a historical event with our excited minds. Let’s start by going to the top of our roofs and screaming as loud as we can! Okay, we won’t do that but it would’ve been a good way to express how we feel. But let’s get to the more important part of this tournament.
